Dear Secretary-General,
Honorable Ban Ki-moon,
Please allow me to address you this message directly , not respecting protocol.
In my attached letter dated Fenruary 14,I stated that an UN Ethics
Summit is the first concrete step toward the new civilization, hence
toward denuclearization.
The on going nuclear accident jn Fukushima is menacing Japan and the
whole world It is now deeply regretted that the use of nuclear energy
was allowed to continue even after the Three Mile Island accident and
the Chernobyl disaster The 4 nuclear reactors out of control facing the
danger of meltdown are teaching us the lesson that the usage of nuclear
energy with its fatal effects due to its invisible radioactivity and
radiation is totally imcompatible with ethics.
The innocent population is suddenly placed in a situation out of human
control by an accident and is obliged to accept all sorts of unbearable
consequences. Nearly half a million residents of Fukushima forced to
seek refuge far away from home are on the brink of despair.
The Japanese population, the first vivtim of the military use of atomic
energy is now going through a huge ordeal resulting from its civil use.
It is the will of goodwilling Japanese people to see to it that Japan
will help the world to change course in the nuclear field to avoid
further tragedies. Irrespective of future development of this disast
the whole world should start regretting the use of energy that has been
proven once again definitely beyond human control. It should never be
allowed to happen again.
I am convinced that you will understand the urgent need for holding the
UN Ethics Summit to share the common vision for the denuclearization of
the globe, that is to say,"a World Without Nuclear Weapons and Nuclear
Reactors".
With highest regards,
Mitsuhei Murata
